So what does increase upper-elementary student's reading achievement?
There is not one fool-proof method to increase reading achievement in all upper-elementary students. As you can see from my findings there are many strategies one can use within the classroom to increase reading achievement. Each strategy points to an increase of time in text. When a student is constantly submerged in texts their reading achievement will increase. The teacher should have available a variety of texts including a mix of fiction and informational texts, high interest texts based on students expressed interest and a plethora of genres for the students to be exposed to. Reading achievement will increase with an increase of amount of time the student's eyes are on a text.
